HE Awareness Day for Care-experienced Students 2018
HELOA London Group is proud to host the sixth HE Awareness Day for students from a care-experienced background and their carers. Social workers and Virtual Heads are also encouraged to attend to find out about the support offered by London universities.
Hosted by King’s College London, the event will provide students with a taste of university and the opportunity to speak to Widening Participation Staff, recruitment staff and care experienced students from a range of London universities.
Sessions will include:
- How to apply and support for Care-experienced students
- Why go to uni?
- Care-experienced student panel (students only)
- How to support your young person to uni/ staff Q&A (for virtual school staff, social workers, foster carers and other support workers)
- Which course? Which uni?
- Financial support and how to budget

- The event is free of charge, including lunch, and open to all United Kingdom students. HELOA London can also reimburse part or whole travel costs for students up to a limit. Please get in touch before booking travel tickets to confirm this.
